Was it just me or do Jason Kidd and the Mavs kick ass?
Jason Kidd's return to Dallas tonight sparked something in the Mavs and they definitely handled those damn Bulls. Luckily when Gates and I bought tickets to random Mavs games at the beginning of the year, we ended up with tickets to Jason Kidd's return. Not too bad considering the Mavs won, Kidd looked sweet, Dampier kicked ass as did Stackhouse and the tickets were only $2.
After picking up some cash at the ATM we swung by Wendy's for some quick grub so as to avoid ridiculously high priced food at the game. We stopped at the train station near Parkland to catch an easy ride to the game but as we were eating in the car the train's whistle blew. We jumped out of the car and hauled ass to the train only to not be able to sneak on without paying. So we missed the train. The next one wasn't for an hour.
So we ended up driving to one of the parking lots around the AAC and paid $10. We could've gone underneath the highway where parking was $5 but the damn machines don't accept anything over a $5 bill - the smallest bill we had was a 10. So we either waste $5 on a damn machine or we pay for better parking. Easy choice.
We made it to our seats for tipoff and by halftime we'd finished our beers and were looking for more. Sucks though that beers are so expensive at the AAC. So we have a solution: Friday we're going to Hooters from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and getting tanked on $2 domestic bottles then going to the game drinking some more and seeing about calling some designated driving service. Friday is gonna kick ass.
After the game and another beer we had a decent buzz going and we ran to the car for the hell of it. Some cop yelled at us for not being on the sidewalk but what the hell is he going to do? Ha! The ride home we were listening to Gates' new mix CD with some good songs just not something you want to be blasting from your speakers - unless you're us.
We were the idiots in high school who rolled down the windows and blasted Hulk Hogan's theme song as we drove through the parking lot. We got lots of strange looks, but it couldn't have been worse than what we got tonight.
First, a little history: on the way home from the last Mavs game we drove by some girls in a red Jeep Liberty. Just for shits and giggles we'd drive up next to them, honk and wave. They'd speed up so we sped up. They hit their brakes on I-35. We hit our brakes on I-35. It was hilarious.
Well tonight there weren't any chicks :-( However there was one guy with his window rolled down so we had to make do. The song that happened to be playing was Crazy by K-Ci and Jojo. I rolled down the window and we cranked it up to max volume. To make it worse I was lip syncing and gesturing to the music - you know, really putting my soul into it. The guy definitely heard the music blasting but I really think he was hesitant to look over. Unfortunately I couldn't tell, my eyes were closed from all the emotion I was putting into my performance ha! So Gates, being the weirdo he is, decides to speed up and slow down with this guy. All the while I'm lip syncing my heart out. As we got close to our apartment complex, the guy was right alongside us when he jammed on his brakes, cut across two lanes and pulled into a gas station. Haha the stupid shit we do to amuse ourselves.
I wonder what crazy shit we'll come up with on Friday. :-)
